It is with great sadness that I must finally close down the forum that so many of us have enjoyed over the years.
I started this forum as a joke when a previous forum was sold and overrun with adverts. In half an hour I installed some forum software to offer refugees of the old site a new place, and in the first day over two hundred and fifty people joined. Then I had to take it a little more seriously.
Over the years we've had meet ups (some with hardly any alcohol); we've had births, deaths, and marriages. Above all, we've had fun.
I owe snowboarding a lot. This forum, with the life-long friends I've made on it, epitomises all that I've been given. Friendships that will last a lifetime, all across the globe. Some of the best days I've had in my life, in far flung places, with some of the best people you could ask for.
But the rise of social media platforms and the general loss of users have made this place redundant, so it's time to retire the site. While it's been worthwhile, it's also been hard work so I'm not entirely sad to see it all come to a close. I'll put some more work into creating an archive of the site for posterity and, who knows, maybe one day I'll resurrect the old forum.
It's been a blast!
